Chelsea has become a unique club, as so far only the Blues have managed to win all four major European club trophies. However, not everyone sees the Conference League victory as a significant achievement.

Details: Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie O’Hara commented on the level of Chelsea’s opponents in the tournament, claiming the team had won a “pub cup.”

Quote: “I got a few messages from my Chelsea mates. We’ve done the grand slam, we’ve done the grand slam. We’re the biggest club in London, we’ve achieved something massive. Give me a break.

What are you talking about? The pub cup doesn’t count. I don’t want to hear a single Chelsea fan come in here and say: We’ve done the grand slam, we wanted to win this match. They didn’t even want to celebrate. It was embarrassing. Real Betis was the only half-decent team they played, and they beat them 4-1.

Normally I’d say these are good teams, but I can’t even say that—they’re dreadful. I don’t want to hear a single Chelsea fan come in here and say: ‘We’ve done the grand slam.’ The only reason you had a shot at the grand slam is because you were rubbish and ended up in the pub cup,” O’Hara told talkSPORT.

Reminder: In the 2021-2022 season, Tottenham also participated in the Conference League but failed to progress past the group stage, finishing third in a group with Rennes, Vitesse, and Mura.
