When Brazilian striker Lucas Ribeiro made the move to Mamelodi Sundowns, many saw it as a step backward in his career. However, he has managed to prove his worth even on the global stage, giving rise to talks of a major transfer.

Details: Ribeiro's compatriot, Freitas Camilo—who had a spell with Orlando Pirates—believes Lucas is now mature enough to test himself in his native Serie A, and that his market value is well within reach for local Brazilian clubs.

Quote: "I think he could bring Sundowns around $5 million, and Brazilian clubs would pay that without hesitation. He arrived at the Club World Cup as a virtual unknown—even back home in Brazil.

Now people know who he is, and I think everyone would agree he's good enough to play in the Brazilian Serie A. It will be interesting to see what Sundowns decide if an offer comes in after this Club World Cup—I’m sure it will, especially from Brazilian clubs. I don't think he would turn down the chance to play in Serie A—whether for Corinthians or Cruzeiro," Camilo told Kick Off.
