Details: According to The Guardian, FIFA has decided to expand the Club World Cup from 32 to 48 teams after a number of elite clubs pressured the organization over their inability to participate in the previous tournament in the summer of 2025.
It is reported that many clubs, including Manchester United and Barcelona, approached FIFA with a request to consider increasing the number of spots available for the tournament.

According to the source, UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin stated that he would not block this decision, allowing FIFA to increase the number of participants for the club World Cup, which will take place in 2029.
