Details: On his Instagram page, 44-year-old former Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso commented on his recent dismissal from the "Galacticos."
According to Alonso, he is grateful to the fans for their trust, but admits that things didn't unfold the way he wanted:
"This professional chapter has come to an end, and everything didn't go as I would have wished. Being the coach of Real Madrid was an honor and a responsibility.
I thank the club, the players, and above all, the Madrid fans for their trust and support. I leave with respect, gratitude, and pride, knowing I did everything I could." Alonso wrote.
Xabi Alonso was appointed as Real Madrid's head coach in June 2025. Under his guidance, the team played 34 matches, recording 24 wins, 4 draws, and 6 defeats, but failed to secure a single trophy with the Galacticos.
Real Madrid officials thanked Alonso for his work, stating that he will always be a welcome guest at the Santiago Bernabéu.
