Everton has lodged an appeal regarding the decision to deduct 10 points
Everton has appealed to the Chairman of the Premier League's Judicial Panel against the decision to deduct 10 points from the team.
The club's website announced that the case will be scheduled for review by the Appeals Committee.
As a reminder, the leadership of the English Premier League has penalized Everton quite severely. The team has been docked 10 points in the current season's league standings due to a breach of financial fair play rules by the club's management.
Last year, the financial losses of the Liverpool-based club amounted to £304 million, significantly exceeding the permissible limit of £105 million set by the regulations of the English Premier League.
Additionally, Burnley, Leeds, and Leicester have expressed their intention to take legal action. This decision stems from an assessment by these clubs regarding the losses incurred not related to Everton's relegation. The executives of the three clubs held discussions during which their intentions were confirmed. In the previous season, Everton narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League in the final round, while Leeds and Leicester were relegated to the Championship.
Burnley contends that Everton violated financial fair play rules in the preceding season, which led to the "Clarets" being relegated from the Premier League.
