Europa League. The defeat made by Liverpool, the goal extravaganza in Marseille vs Ajax battle

On Thursday, November 30, the matches of the fifth round of the Europa League took place. Liverpool played at home against LASK, Marseille faced Ajax, and Servette hosted Roma.

Liverpool - LASK - 3:0

In the first 15 minutes, Liverpool scored two goals. Dias found the net in the 12th minute, and Gakpo followed suit in the 15th. In the opening moments of the second half, Mohamed Salah converted a penalty in the 51st minute. In injury time, Cody Gakpo sealed the result, completing a brace in this game.

Liverpool dismantled LASK 4:0, taking the lead in Group E with 12 points.

Marseille - Ajax - 3:3

In the initial ten minutes, both teams exchanged goals. On the ninth minute, Aubameyang converted a penalty, and a minute later, Brobbey leveled the score. In the first half, the teams once again found the back of the net in their opponents' goals. On the 26th, Mbemba restored Marseille's lead, and four minutes later, Brobbey completed a brace.

At the start of the second half, Marseille scored their third goal, and once again, Brobbey secured a brace. Although, Ajax leveled the score again. In the 80th minute, Chuba Akpom netted the third goal, seemingly securing a draw for his team. However, Aubameyang converted another penalty, completing a hat-trick.

Marseille secured victory in the dying minutes and reclaimed the top spot in Group B. The French team now has 11 points.

Servette - Roma - 1:1

The "Wolves" scored a goal in the 21st minute, with Romelu Lukaku finding the back of the net. However, the hosts leveled the score early in the second half. Chris Bedia marked an important goal for the Romanian team.

Roma dropped the points and sits in second place in Group G. José Mourinho's team has accumulated 10 points.
