Euromatch NPFL: Salisu Yusuf Urges Shooting Stars Fans to Be Patient After Nasarawa United Draw
Shooting Stars head coach Salisu Yusuf has appealed to the club’s supporters for patience after his side were held to a goalless draw by Nasarawa United in their NPFL Matchday 7 clash at the Lekan Salami Stadium on Sunday.
The Oluyole Warriors have endured a difficult start to the Nigeria Premier Football League campaign, with the team coming under increasing pressure from fans following a run of inconsistent results.
Speaking to 3SCFans TV after the game, Yusuf acknowledged the supporters’ frustration but urged them to remain patient as the team looks to turn things around.
“What we are asking the fans is for understanding; things will be right,” Yusuf said.
The coach stressed that there is still plenty of football to be played this season, with 32 matches remaining for Shooting Stars to improve their position and compete for their targets.
“To be in the continental or win the trophy is not about winning the first few games. I understand the fans’ feelings. I am not happy as well because if I win, I will get more bonuses,” he added.
Shooting Stars will have little time to recover, as they return to action on Wednesday when they host Kano Pillars at the Lekan Salami Stadium.
