Euromatch NPFL: Nasarawa United Coach Mbwas Mangut Says Team Unlucky in 3-1 Defeat to Barau FC

Nasarawa United head coach Mbwas Mangut believes his side were unlucky not to get a positive result after suffering a 3-1 defeat to Barau FC in their opening match of the 2026/27 Euromatch Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

The Solid Miners were beaten at the Sani Abacha Stadium despite creating several opportunities during the match.

Speaking to the club’s media after the game, Mangut insisted that Nasarawa United played better but failed to make the most of their chances.

“My wards played better, but were unlucky to score from the avalanche of opportunities we had,” Mangut said.

“It’s definitely not the way to start the new season, but we will analyse our mistakes, regroup, and bounce back stronger, beginning from our next match.”

Nasarawa United will now look to bounce back when they host Bendel Insurance at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday in their next Euromatch NPFL fixture.
