Euromatch NPFL: Kano Pillars Beat Niger Tornadoes 3-2 to Claim First Win of the Season

Kano Pillars secured their first win of the 2026/27 Euromatch Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season after beating Niger Tornadoes 3-2 at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday.

The hosts took the lead through Ubong Friday before Fabian Nworie doubled their advantage with a brilliant header to give Kano Pillars a 2-0 lead at half-time.

Fabian completed his brace in the 54th minute to put Kano Pillars three goals ahead and seemingly in control of the match.

Niger Tornadoes, however, refused to give up. Nafiu reduced the deficit in the 72nd minute with a composed close-range finish to make it 3-1.

The visitors continued to push for another goal and were rewarded in the 90th minute when Wasiu Jimoh found the back of the net to make it 3-2.

Kano Pillars held on during the closing stages to secure all three points despite the late pressure from Niger Tornadoes.

The victory gives Kano Pillars their first win of the campaign and extends their unbeaten start to two matches following their 2-2 draw against Kwara United on Matchday One.
