Euromatch NPFL: Ashifat Sulyman Blames Missed Chances for Kwara United’s Defeat to Ikorodu City
Kwara United head coach Ashifat Sulyman has blamed missed scoring opportunities and bad luck for his side’s 2-0 defeat to Ikorodu City in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday Eight fixture at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, on Saturday.
The Harmony Boys suffered an early setback when Farouk Salami found the net in the second minute, before Ikechukwu Junior doubled Ikorodu City’s advantage in the 36th minute to put the hosts firmly in control.
Kwara United struggled to recover from the two first-half goals and ultimately left Lagos without a point, as the Oga Boys secured their third win of the season and ended their two-match winless run.
Reacting after the match, Sulyman pointed to his team’s failure to convert its chances as a major factor behind the defeat. He, however, assured supporters that the technical crew would continue working to address the team’s shortcomings ahead of their next fixture.
