Arsenal midfielder Ethan Nwaneri has proudly acknowledged his Nigerian roots while speaking in an exclusive interview with R.org.
The 18-year-old was born in England to a Nigerian father and an English-French mother, making him eligible to represent three countries at the international level. Despite already featuring for England’s youth teams, Nwaneri has expressed pride in his Nigerian heritage.
During the interview, Nwaneri was asked about past Nigerian stars such as Taye Taiwo and Wilson Oruma, both of whom enjoyed spells with French club Marseille. His response was clear and confident.
“Yes, I know. I’m Nigerian, and I am here to help the team as much as possible,” Nwaneri said.
