It seems Nwaneri's career is far from straightforward.
Details: According to journalist Alex Crook, the 18-year-old Arsenal midfielder is flatly refusing to sign a new contract with the club unless the agreement includes a clause guaranteeing him a specific amount of playing time, which cannot be reduced.
The Gunners' management is reportedly furious with Nwaneri's stance, and it appears the player is edging closer to leaving the team.
Earlier reports indicated that Chelsea are closely monitoring the situation around Ethan and are already poised to make an offer should the new deal with Arsenal fall through.
Nwaneri's contract with the London club runs until 2026, but the management is making every effort to extend the agreement.
Last season, the young star made 37 appearances for Arsenal's senior team, netting 9 goals and providing 2 assists—performances that have caught the eye of several top clubs. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is estimated at €55 million.
