After falling to Vélez in the Supercopa Internacional final, Estudiantes de La Plata is moving quickly to bolster its squad ahead of the Libertadores knockout stage. The club is on the verge of signing two notable names: center-back Leandro González Pirez and striker Enzo Copetti.

González Pirez, recently released from River Plate after being excluded from Marcelo Gallardo’s plans, is set for a second stint at Estudiantes. The defender previously played for the club between 2016 and 2017. He is expected to sign a deal through the end of 2027 once all paperwork is finalized.

Meanwhile, Enzo Copetti could join on loan from Rosario Central. With Ángel Di María and Alejo Véliz arriving, Copetti might see reduced minutes and is open to a move. Estudiantes has submitted a loan proposal, and negotiations now center around the purchase option. In the Apertura, the forward played 16 matches, scored three goals, and added two assists.

Another name gaining traction is Marcos Rojo. The former Manchester United and Boca defender is finalizing his departure from the Xeneize. Though Estudiantes remains tight-lipped, Rojo’s potential return continues to stir speculation, despite some reservations among the fanbase.
