Esther Okoronkwo is back in contention for AFC Toronto after recovering from injury and could feature when they take on Montreal Roses on Saturday, June 13 at York Lions Stadium.

The Nigerian attacker, has been out of action since picking up a meniscus injury earlier in the Northern Super League campaign during a match against Halifax Tides FC. She was forced off in the first half after sustaining the setback in what ended as a goalless draw.

Okoronkwo’s absence stretched over several weeks as she underwent recovery and rehabilitation, leaving AFC Toronto without one of their attacking options.

However, encouraging signs of progress have now emerged after the 28-year-old shared updates from training, signalling her return to full fitness.

Taking to Instagram, she expressed her excitement at being back on the pitch, writing:

“Back on my feet, mission enroute,” alongside training photos.
