Esperance Win 2024/25 Tunisian Ligue 1 Title with Game to Spare


In the penultimate round of the season, Esperance de Tunis defeated Olympique Beja 5-0 on Sunday, securing the 2024–25 Tunisian Ligue 1 title in spectacular fashion.
Sasse and Belaili Lead the Charge
Brazilian forward Yan Sasse struck twice in the 7th and 42nd minutes, setting the tone for a dominant performance. Algerian star Youcef Belaili added a third goal in the 60th, before Houssem Tka (68') and Elias Mokwana (76') capped off the emphatic win.
Title Secured with Game to Spare
With 65 points, coach Maher Kanzari’s side now sit four points clear of second-placed US Monastir, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Etoile Metlaoui. That result officially handed Esperance their 34th league title, extinguishing Monastir’s title hopes.
Etoile du Sahel Keep Race for Africa Alive
Elsewhere, Etoile du Sahel kept their continental qualification hopes alive with a 2-0 away win over Club Africain. Mohamed Cherif Camara scored in the 47th minute, followed by Firas Chaouat in the 58th.
Etoile are now level on 61 points with Monastir but trail on goal difference. Club Africain remain 4th with 53 points, just two ahead of ES Zarzis in 5th.
