Esperance Expresses Solidarity with Fans After Authorities Ban the “Show”
Esperance Tunis has said it fully supports its fans after security officials stopped them from doing a special fan display called the "dakhla" during Sunday's big game against Club Africain.
The passionate fans of Esperance were very upset when they were not allowed to bring banners and decorations into the stadium for the much-awaited match.
In a message on the club's Facebook page, Esperance wrote:
"The leaders of Esperance Tunis know how hard our fans worked and how much time they spent getting ready for the dakhla and making the game special. We completely stand with our amazing fans and feel just as disappointed about this ban."
The reasons behind the authorities’ decision remain unclear, especially since Esperance was the host of the match, which was played without the presence of away fans due to security concerns.
Esperance fans, who had put in countless hours to improve the atmosphere, were disappointed by the lack of the anticipated show, even if the derby finished in an exciting 2-2 draw.
