On Monday, 24 November, Espanyol will face Sevilla, with their game set to kick off at 21:00 CET. However, the timing has drawn the ire of the Catalan side’s coach.

Details: In the pre-match press conference, Manolo González called it a disgrace to play so late on a Monday evening. He noted that it is understandable why fans do not attend matches on that day, as most people have work commitments.

Quote: "It’s a disgrace that we constantly play late on Monday nights. La Liga obviously wants to fill stadiums, but it’s entirely clear why people don’t come. They have work the next day. Other leagues have a lot to teach in this regard," said the Espanyol coach.

He also added that a 21:00 CET kick-off is not ideal, especially in colder conditions, and La Liga should learn from the Bundesliga and England’s Premier League.

Quote: "The Premier League is also a good example. Even then, they have a much better financial distribution for all clubs. It’s common sense, and I envy the Premier League and Bundesliga. Every match has full stadiums, while here in Spain, nothing makes sense," González stated.

Reminder: Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez delivered sharp criticism of La Liga president Javier Tebas during Sunday’s delegates’ meeting.
