Manchester United’s leading centre-back Lisandro Martínez is highly likely to leave the English giants during the upcoming winter transfer window.

Details: According to respected Spanish journalist Edu Burgos, the Argentine defender is seriously considering a change of scenery and could say goodbye to the Red Devils as early as January. The situation surrounding the team and the uncertainty over its sporting direction are pushing the player to seek a new challenge, while United’s hierarchy are ready to consider a sale if a substantial offer arrives.

The leading contenders to sign the World Cup winner are La Liga giants Barcelona and Atlético Madrid. Both clubs have already begun drawing up transfer proposals, hoping to take advantage of the situation and bolster their defensive lines with a proven player renowned for his outstanding passing from the back.

It is worth noting that Lisandro Martínez joined Manchester United from Ajax in Amsterdam in the summer of 2022. Since then, he has won the FA Cup and the League Cup with the Red Devils, as well as lifting the World Cup in Qatar with Argentina.
