Rajasthan Royals sold to Mittal and Poonawalla families for ₹15,660 crore
The Indian Premier League franchise Rajasthan Royals has changed hands in one of the biggest deals in the history of world cricket.
Details: According to Mufaddal Vohra, the total value of the deal reached a staggering ₹15,660 crore, underscoring the league's rapidly growing commercial appeal. Control of the club now passes to an alliance of two of India’s most influential business dynasties, who are ready to invest in the brand’s global expansion.
According to the terms of the agreement, the Mittal family becomes the majority shareholder, acquiring 75% of the club's shares. Another 18% stake has been purchased by Serum Institute of India chief Adar Poonawalla, while the remaining 7% stays with the current owners, including Manoj Badale.
The new owners plan to leverage their resources to strengthen Rajasthan Royals’ position not only in India, but also on the international stage.
