"EPL is now the best league in the world - like La Liga ten years ago" - Franky De Jong shared his opinion about the level of championships
Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong compared the top leagues and explained why he isn't eager to move to England, despite the Premier League's high status.
Details: In today's interview with Voetbal International, Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong stated that although the Premier League is currently the best league in the world, you don't have to play there to be a great footballer.
“The Premier League is now, without a doubt, the best league in the world—just like La Liga was about ten years ago. But that doesn't mean you have to play there to prove you're a great player,” said de Jong.
The midfielder also recalled the story of his former teammate Marc Cucurella:
“When he played for Brighton, he told me that many English players dream of one day joining Barcelona or Real Madrid. For me, that dream came true—since childhood, I wanted to play for Barça.”
This season, the Dutchman has played fourteen matches for the Catalan club, providing two assists.
Reminder: Barcelona defender Jules Koundé missed a group training session with the French national team.
