Enzo Maresca responds to whether Chelsea can put pressure on Liverpool

Chelsea currently sits second in the Premier League table with 34 points, trailing Liverpool by just two. Enzo Maresca was asked if his team can exert any pressure on the Merseyside club.

Details: During the pre-match press conference, Chelsea’s head coach was questioned about whether his team can currently put pressure on Liverpool. According to the Italian, it’s uncertain whether they can achieve that.

Quote: "I don’t know if they would perceive it as pressure if we win. That’s more a question for them. We’ll try to prepare for the game to win it. Even if we do win, they still have two games in hand. So, I don’t think it’s pressure for them, but again, that’s more a question for them—I don’t know," stated Enzo Maresca.

Chelsea will face Everton on Sunday, December 22, in matchweek 17 of the Premier League. The game kicks off at 15:00 Central European Time. The Blues currently sit second in the table with 34 points after 16 matches.

Reminder: Chelsea remains active in the transfer market, continually seeking new signings. However, with squad spots limited, the club may need to offload players. Head coach Enzo Maresca has outlined specific conditions under which player sales could occur.
