Enzo Maresca took over Chelsea in the summer of 2024 and has started his tenure with a solid performance. Currently, the "Blues" sit in fifth place, and expectations are rising.
Details: According to Maresca, there is no mandate for Chelsea to finish in the top four this season. The goal is different—to build something significant over the next four to five years.
Quote: "The club's management has never told me about the objective of reaching the top four in the Premier League. I have always been informed that the aim is to build something important over the next four to five years. Of course, we work daily to achieve something significant, and we will strive to do our best until the end," Maresca shared.
The Italian manager added that he doesn't believe the players feel any pressure. They approach each match individually and focus on their current situation.
Reminder: Chelsea secured a victory over Newcastle in the ninth round of the Premier League, winning 2-1 thanks to goals from Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer.
Interestingly, Chelsea has won 10 of their 14 Premier League matches since early May, with only the reigning champions, Manchester City, earning more points.
