Enzo Maresca admits he doesn’t know when Lavia will return
Chelsea are preparing for their next Premier League fixture, but they’ll have to do it without one of their holding midfielders, who picked up an injury. The manager has now admitted he has no idea when the player will be back.
Details: At his pre-match press conference, Enzo Maresca said he currently doesn’t know when Romeo Lavia will return. The Italian confirmed it’s a muscle issue.
Quote: “We don’t know when Romeo Lavia will be able to come back. It’s a muscle problem. We don’t know whether it’s a long-term or short-term issue,” the Chelsea manager admitted.
Romeo Lavia suffered the injury in the UEFA Champions League match against Qarabag on 5 November. This season, he has featured only seven times.
Chelsea will face Bournemouth away in the next round on Saturday, 6 December. Kick-off is at 16:00 CET.
Reminder: Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola, 52, in his pre-match interview ahead of the game against Sunderland, responded to a journalist’s question about his Chelsea counterpart, Italian manager Enzo Maresca.
