Enyimba Suspend Head Coach Eguma After Poor Run of Results
Enyimba have suspended Chief Coach Stanley Eguma and his assistants, Ndubuisi Nduka and Joseph Boma, following what the club described as “a run of poor and unsatisfactory results.” The decision came after an emergency management meeting triggered by Sunday’s home defeat to Wikki Tourists in an NPFL match at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba.
According to the letter sent to Eguma, the club said the action was necessary to stop their continued slide down the league table. Former international striker Lawrence ‘Danjuma’ Ukaegbu has now been appointed interim coach with immediate effect.
In a statement on Monday night, the club said: “While the club conducts a thorough review of the poor performance… the management has… asked… Lawrence Ukaegbu, to take interim charge of training sessions and preparations ahead of the match day 14 game against Katsina United in Jos on Sunday.”
