Enyimba Appoint Uche Okechukwu as Sporting Director in Kanu Reunion

Enyimba have appointed former Super Eagles defender Uche Okechukwu as their new Sporting Director, reuniting him with club chairman Nwankwo Kanu in a major shake-up at the Aba giants.

The move brings back the “Gentle Giant” to the club where his career began, with fans excited about the return of one of Nigeria’s most respected football figures.

Kanu praised the appointment, saying: “The Chairman congratulated Uche Okechukwu on his new role… expressing strong confidence in his ability to deploy his vast experience, integrity, and deep knowledge of the game…”

He added that Okechukwu’s “rich understanding of football administration… and player development will play a key role” in restoring Enyimba’s success.

Okechukwu won AFCON in 1994, played at Nigeria’s first World Cup, and helped secure Olympic gold in 1996.
