"Entitled to a second chance". Sean Murphy is fine with Stephen Lee's return
In 2024, the 12-year suspension of former world No. 5 snooker player Stephen Lee comes to an end, and snooker star Shaun Murphy has shared his thoughts on Lee's potential return.
Details: Speaking on the OneFourSeven podcast, Shaun Murphy expressed his doubts about Lee making a comeback but acknowledged that the 50-year-old Englishman deserves a second chance.

"I don’t think so[he will return]. Not until he pays his fines that are outstanding to the WPBSA and the legal costs and all the rest of it.
But, you know, we live in a society where you do the crime, you do the time, and everyone is entitled to a second chance aren’t they?
He was an incredible player with a Rolls-Royce cue action and just a great guy off the table. I never had a cross word with him.
He was a beautiful player to watch, a winner. He beat me in the final of the 2006 Welsh Open and won many, many ranking events”.
Reminder: In 2012, Stephen Lee was charged with seven instances of match-fixing, which led to his lengthy suspension. So far, he has not announced any plans to return to snooker.
