English top clubs need Real Madrid's rising star

One of the main revelations of Real Madrid's pre-season has been Joan Martínez. The 16-year-old central defender has been part of Carlo Ancelotti's team for the past few weeks and made a strong impression during his first-team debut against AC Milan earlier this week.

Due to a lack of options in central defense following the departures of Nacho Fernandez and Rafa Marin, Martínez is likely to remain with the first team. However, several Premier League clubs hope this won't be the case and plan to sign him this summer.

According to Diario AS, Manchester United and Chelsea have shown interest in Martínez. Nevertheless, at Santiago Bernabéu, they are calm about the situation, confident that the young player doesn't want to leave the club.

Martínez could become an important player for Los Blancos in the coming years, so much so that his performances might make the management forget about Leny Yoro, whom they failed to sign this summer. Remarkably, he is already being compared to the legendary defender Sergio Ramos.
