Bayern Leverkusen striker Nathan Tella has revealed that he is making every effort to return to the Nigerian national team at the earliest possible opportunity.

The young striker last played for the Nigerian national team almost a year ago against Rwanda in the World Cup qualifiers.

The 25-year-old was born in England and started with Arsenal Hale End academy before moving to Southampton and then Burnley, The talented Nigerian won a double with Bayern Leverkusen under the management of Xavi Alonso.

And after Xavi Alonso's team won a clean five-set victory over RB Leipzig, Nathan Tella said: “Yeah, of course, I’m an attacker. I always want to score, be a part of the goals for the team, but I’ve had a bit of difficulty this season. In the last two games, I think we’ve shown character and I hope it continues like this, I think everyone wants to play more games, but obviously, with the way the team is playing, everyone can play, everyone will get their opportunity, everyone will get minutes. It’s just about being ready, so when the opportunity comes, we’ll take it”
