England have qualified for the 2026 World Cup and are already mapping out their preparations, with their upcoming friendly opponents now confirmed.
Details: According to Ben Jacobs, the Three Lions will face New Zealand on 6 June and Costa Rica on 10 June. Both matches will be held at their training camp in South Florida.
It has also been revealed that England will be based in Kansas City, Missouri, throughout the tournament. Swope Soccer Village will serve as the Three Lions’ training base following what the Football Association described as a “thorough search.”
England have been drawn into Group L, where they will compete alongside Croatia, Ghana and Panama. They are set to play their opening match of the tournament on 17 January.
Reminder: The Portuguese Football Federation is considering appointing José Mourinho as head coach of the national team once current manager Roberto Martínez steps down.
