The English Football Association (FA) is reportedly considering whether England players should participate in the traditional pre-match handshake involving Thomas Partey when England face Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to The Times, the FA is currently reviewing whether specific instructions should be issued to players regarding the customary pre-match greeting ahead of the Group L fixture in Boston on June 23.

The match will be the second group-stage outing for both nations in a tournament co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Partey has been included in Ghana’s final World Cup squad and is currently facing trial in the UK on seven counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, charges to which he has entered not guilty pleas.
