End of the road for Senegal's U20 women's team in the 2026 Women's World Cup qualifiers

Eliminated by Nigeria.

Senegal's Lionesses will not be advancing to the fourth and final round of African qualifiers for the 2026 U20 Women's World Cup in Poland. They were unable to overcome Nigeria in their doubleheader.

Away in Nigeria last week, Senegal's U20 women's national team lost 1-0.

In the return leg on Saturday 14 February in Diamniadio, the Senegalese girls were unable to turn the tide. Another defeat, this time by a score of 2-1, sealed their fate. Their journey thus ends in the third round of African qualifiers for the Women's World Cup in their category, which will take place in Poland this year.
