End of the road? Everton announce Ashley Young's departure

Everton have officially confirmed that they will not be extending Ashley Young's contract, meaning he will leave the club at the end of the season.
Also departing are 37-year-old goalkeeper Asmir Begović, who failed to make a single appearance after returning, and 25-year-old João Virgínia, who has been with the Toffees since 2018 but featured only eight times.
Manager David Moyes thanked the players, singling out Young for his professionalism and impact on the squad: "Ashley has shown himself to be a true leader; his versatility and experience have been a tremendous asset."
For the record, the 39-year-old Young—one of the Premier League’s oldest outfield players (only Łukasz Fabiański is older)—has made 438 top-flight appearances across 19 seasons, featuring for Watford, Aston Villa, Manchester United, and, finally, Everton.
