Emmanuel Adebayor Names Mohamed Salah Greatest African Player in Premier League History
Former Arsenal and Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor has declared Mohamed Salah as the greatest African player in Premier League history, ranking him above legends such as Didier Drogba, Jay-Jay Okocha, and John Mikel Obi.
Speaking to Viaplay Premier Sunday, the former Tottenham and Real Madrid forward praised Salah’s achievements and influence in English football, highlighting his consistency, skill, and impact on the game.
Adebayor also took a moment to recognize other African icons, lauding Sadio Mane and former Ghana international Michael Essien as true legends of the sport.
Interestingly, Adebayor initially named ex-Chelsea striker Didier Drogba as his top choice. However, when the discussion turned to Salah, the Togolese star changed his mind:
“For me, Mo Salah would have to be the GOAT.”
