21-year-old British tennis player Emma Raducanu (WTA 288) has withdrawn from the WTA 1000 tournament in Miami, USA.

The official reason for the British player's withdrawal from the prestigious competition is a lower back injury.

Her place in the main draw will be taken by the 69th-ranked player in the world, Anna Karolina Schmiedlova from Slovakia (WTA 69). In the first round, Schmiedlova will play against Wang Qiang from China (WTA 56).

It is worth noting that Emma unexpectedly won the US Open 2021 title in 2021. Her last match was in the round of 16 in Indian Wells, where she lost to Aryna Sabalenka.

It is quite possible that Sabalenka will also withdraw from Miami, as it was recently announced that her partner had passed away...
