Emiliano Vecchio Reveals Rosario Central's Hooligans Were His Agents
Former Racing midfielder Emiliano Vecchio made headlines after revealing that during his early career at Rosario Central, the club's barra brava (ultras) held significant influence over players.
“You had to sign with the barra, there was no choice,” he said in an interview with No Es Para Tanto, adding that he was once “represented by the barra.”
Vecchio noted that his 2020 return was only possible thanks to manager Kily González, which kept the group, led by the now-deceased Pillín Bracamonte, from interfering. The revelation sparked strong reactions online.
Vecchio, now 36, has just signed with Defensores de Belgrano in Argentina’s second division after a turbulent stint at Unión Española in Chile. He had previously expressed a desire to play for Boca Juniors, calling it “the Real Madrid of South America,” though he ultimately landed in the Primera Nacional.
