Emam Ashour Departs Al Ahly Camp in USA After Injury Blow

Al Ahly midfielder Emam Ashour has officially left the team’s training camp in the United States, following the clavicle injury he sustained during the opening match of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup against Inter Miami.
Immediate Return to Cairo
Reports confirmed that the 26-year-old will fly back to Cairo on Sunday evening, ending his participation in the global tournament prematurely. The decision was taken after medical assessments deemed it necessary for the player to begin his recovery in Egypt.
Injury in the Opening Clash
Ashour, who was forced off during the tightly contested 0-0 draw with Inter Miami, suffered a fracture to his collarbone, ruling him out for the remainder of the group stage.
His absence is a significant blow for Marcel Koller, who had counted on the dynamic midfielder to anchor the team’s midfield.
The former Zamalek SC player will now focus on his rehabilitation with an eye on returning ahead of the new Egyptian Premier League season, which kicks off on August 8.
