Elye Wahi is on fire in Ligue 1 with Nice

Loaned back to the French club during the last summer transfer window, the Ivorian international has been impressive since his return and is establishing himself as one of the key players in Nice’s attack.

On matchday 9 of Ligue 1 on Friday 30 October, Elye Wahi put in a stellar performance against Rennes. In front of his home crowd at the Allianz Riviera, he scored a hat-trick and provided an assist in Nice’s resounding 5–2 victory.

This latest attacking display confirms the Ivorian international’s fine form. With six goals in eight appearances to his name, Elye Wahi currently sits second in the French league’s top scorers’ table at this stage of the season.

But his influence isn’t limited to goals. The 23-year-old striker has also provided two assists, bringing his tally to eight attacking contributions in eight matches.

Back at Nice, Elye Wahi appears to have regained his full effectiveness.The Ivory Coast international is already outperforming his previous spell at Nice, where he scored seven goals in 15 appearances.
