Elye Wahi explains his bond with Nice
Back in the summer on another season-long loan from Eintracht Frankfurt, the Ivorian striker has spoken of his fondness for OGC Nice, where he feels at home.
Elye Wahi is delighted to be back at Nice, where he played on loan last season. The Ivorian international praised the welcome he has received at the club, both from the coaching staff and the management. For Elye Wahi, this relationship has developed naturally.
“In love? Yeah, you could certainly say that. I think I’ve landed on my feet. The city of Nice, the coaching staff, the management, the whole club, gave me a warm welcome last year too. And coming back is a real pleasure for me.
“Sometimes things just happen naturally, and I think that’s what clicked between Nice and me. And I’m very happy, in any case.”
Last season, the Ivorian striker scored seven goals and provided one assist, helping Nice avoid relegation from Ligue 1. Having returned on loan for another season, he has scored one goal in five appearances. Wahi hopes to build on this form with a club to which he seems deeply attached.
