Elye Wahi Arrives in Nice Ahead of Loan Return from Eintracht Frankfurt
Ivorian international Elye Wahi arrived at Nice Airport on Sunday night to a warm reception from a large group of supporters as he prepares to return to OGC Nice.
According to L’Équipe, fans waited at the airport for the forward, with dozens gathering to welcome him as his flight from Tunis arrived ahead of the one from Frankfurt.
Nice and Eintracht Frankfurt reached an agreement on Saturday for Wahi to return to the French club on loan. The move follows an impressive spell with Nice from January to June, when his performances played an important role in helping the club avoid relegation.
The 23-year-old is now scheduled to undergo his medical on Monday, after which his return is expected to be officially confirmed.
Wahi has struggled to find his best form at Frankfurt, scoring just one goal in 25 appearances for the Bundesliga side.
His previous spell at Nice was far more productive, with the Ivorian scoring nine goals in 19 appearances during the second half of last season.
