Elite One: Union Sportif Abong Mbang announces the signing of a Brazilian striker
Union Sportif Abong Mbang has made a major move ahead of its return to the top flight of Cameroonian football.
The club has officially announced the signing of Brazilian José de Lima Da Sylva. The 27-year-old striker arrives in Cameroon from Uruguayan side Colón FC. He will bolster the attacking line-up of the ‘Eastern Americans’, which the management intends to strengthen ahead of the resumption of Elite One, Cameroon’s professional league.
This signing comes as Union Sportif Abong Mbang makes its long-awaited return to the top flight of Cameroonian professional football after securing promotion at the end of the 2025–2026 season. It is a return after 27 years, and the club intends to prepare for it ambitiously, relying on the experience and calibre of its new Brazilian signing to make its mark in Elite One.
