Elite One: Colombe take top spot following Unisport’s defeat
Matchday 24 of the Cameroonian professional league saw major upheavals in the title race.
Colombe pulled off a fine result on Sunday 14 June during matchday 24 of the Cameroonian professional league. Away at the Bamenda Proximity Stadium, Colombe beat Bamenda 2-1. The visitors took the lead in the 24th minute through Jude Enow, 1-0. But the home side equalised before half-time. Aliyu Yaya equalised in stoppage time, 1-1
However, Colombe regained the lead after the break. Conrad Njuma Ikose scored the winning goal in the 46th minute, 2-1. A valuable victory that sees Colombe take top spot in the 2025-2026 Cameroonian league.
As for Unisport Bafang, matchday 24 proved painful. Having led the Elite One for several weeks, the Bafang club suffered a setback on Sunday 14 June. Unisport lost to Gazelle FA, 2-0. They now occupy third place in the league following Dynamo Douala’s 1-0 victory over Panthere.
Colombe, Dynamo Douala and Unisport Bafang, who occupy the top three places in Elite One, are level on points (49).
