Elite One Cameroon: big wins for PWD Bamenda and Dynamo Douala

On Sunday 1 February, PWD Bamenda beat Satde Renard 4-1, while Dynamo Douala defeated Victoria United 3-1.

At the Bamenda Municipal Stadium, the home side took control of the match in the first half hour. Ndonwie Fielding gave Bamenda the lead in the 28th minute, 1-0. Fabrice Ndeh doubled the lead with a penalty in the 41st minute, bringing the score to 2-0. Stade Renard reacted in stoppage time at the end of the first half. Jean Simplice Mbang reduced the deficit to 2-1 in the 45+2nd minute.

Shortly afterwards, Aliyu Yaya made it 3-1 in the 45+5th minute. The two teams returned to the dressing rooms for the break. After the break, Junior Nguimbat sealed the victory for Bamenda. He scored the home side's fourth goal in the 60th minute. PWD Bamenda secured their first win of the season and picked up their first three points, moving back up to 7th place in the table.

At the Annexe Bepanda stadium, Dynamo Douala beat Victoria United 3-1. Nkomo's red card in the 14th minute did not help their situation. Feumi Yanou set the tone in the 44th minute for Dynamo Douala before the visitors, reduced to 10 men, equalised in the 45th minute, 1-1. The score was tied at half-time.

However, the second half proved fatal for Victoria United. Jules Armand Kooh in the 52nd minute and Luke Kenda in the 58th minute sealed the fate of the match, which ended 3-1.

Dynamo Douala secured a second victory in the second round and took first place in the championship with 6 points.

In other matches on Sunday, Fortuna and Aigle Royal drew 0-0, as did Unisport Bafang and Panthere.
