In a regular-season match of the National Hockey League between the New York Rangers and the New Jersey Devils, a massive brawl occurred.

Right from the start of the game, players from both teams engaged in a fight. According to journalist Colin Ragg, the incident might have started when Rangers rookie Matt Rempe elbowed Devils defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler. As a result, the New York player was ejected and disqualified for four matches. Additionally, referees immediately ejected eight players from both teams for the remainder of the game.

The match between the Rangers and the Devils ended with a 4-3 victory for the New Yorkers, with Chris Kreider scoring the winning goal late in the third period. The Rangers lead the Eastern Conference standings with 106 points, while the Devils sit in 13th place with 76 points.
