In the spring of 2025, FIBA will select the next host country for EuroBasket 2029. Eight countries are in contention.

Details: According to FIBA Executive Director Kamil Novak, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Slovenia, and Spain have all expressed interest in hosting the tournament. In May 2025, four federations will be chosen to host the 43rd European Basketball Championship.

Quote: "The fact that we have received eight official bids to host EuroBasket 2029 is a testament to the massive reach of the main European event. National federations have embraced the well-established format of hosting multiple tournaments not only as a boost for the competition’s growth but also as a driving force for the development of our sport across the entire continent," he stated.

Interestingly, if Estonia and the Netherlands are chosen, it will be their first time hosting EuroBasket.

Reminder: The EuroLeague has made a series of disciplinary decisions regarding recent offenses. Notably, the organization penalized Serbian club Partizan for the behavior of its fans.
