Egypt’s Football Leadership Sets World Cup Ambitions
At the EFA offices today, national team head coach Hossam Hassan and team director Ibrahim Hassan had a crucial meeting with Egyptian Football Association (EFA) President Hany Abo Rida.
The meeting, which included EFA Vice President Khaled El Darandaly and board members Hamada El Sherbiny, Mostafa Abo Zahra, and Mohamed Abo Hussein, discussed Egypt's plans for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Abo Rida stressed that the federation is fully dedicated to offering all the support needed to help Egypt qualify successfully.
Egypt is currently at the top of Group A in the African World Cup qualifiers with 10 points, after winning three matches and drawing one. The team will play against Ethiopia on March 17 and Sierra Leone later in the same month as part of the fifth and sixth rounds of the qualifiers.
The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will be held in December in Morocco, and the Pharaohs have already earned a spot. Under Hossam Hassan's leadership, the club hopes to maintain its impressive play.
