Egypt’s Captain Highlights the Importance of Letting Marmoush Forge His Own Path Without Comparisons
During the Sharjah International Book Fair, Liverpool's Mohamed Salah spoke sincerely about the increasing comparisons between himself and Eintracht Frankfurt's Omar Marmoush. He urged fans not to put too much pressure on the young Egyptian player.
"Marmoush is a very talented player who has overcome many difficult challenges to reach his current level," Salah said. "He is very important for both his club and the national team, consistently performing at a high level."
Salah expressed concern about comparisons, stating, "Labeling him as 'the new Salah' or claiming he’ll surpass my career achievements places unnecessary stress on him. It’s unfair to compare a seasoned player with years of success to someone just starting out."
"He should focus on his own journey and create something different," he said, underscoring the need of allowing Marmoush to forge his own path. He won't benefit from constant comparisons.
Salah urged supporters to embrace Marmoush's uniqueness and let him develop free from expectations as he wrapped up.
