Egyptian Star Emad Moteab Plans Retirement Match with Barcelona
Egyptian football icon Emad Moteab has revealed his plans for a retirement match featuring Al Ahly and Barcelona. Moteab, who retired in 2018 following an illustrious career with Al Ahly and the Egyptian national team, expressed his enthusiasm for the event after delays due to COVID-19 and other circumstances.
Speaking to OnTime Sports, Moteab shared, “I initially planned for my farewell match with Al Ahly and Barcelona, but it was postponed due to the pandemic. I wanted to wait for a time when the stadium could be packed with Al Ahly fans.”
He added that seeing the fans’ support recently reignited his desire to proceed with the match. Moteab also mentioned ongoing discussions with Barcelona, stating, “I have a call with Barcelona’s president, Joan Laporta, to finalize details and schedules, and I’m hopeful everything will go smoothly.”
