The Egyptian Football Association is trying to persuade them.
These referees have been selected by FIFA for the World Cup scheduled for this summer in the United States, Canada and Mexico. With less than two months to go before the tournament, they were appointed by the governing body of Egyptian football to referee a Premier League match between Zamalek SC and Pyramids FC. However, they are reported to have declined.
The reason given by these referees is that they wish to avoid any media pressure, controversy or disputes that could damage their reputation with less than two months to go before the World Cup.
