Egyptian Premier League: Pyramids Maintain Top Spot After Thrilling Draw with Al Ahly
Al Ahly drew 2–2 with Pyramids in an exciting clash during the 10th round of the Egyptian Premier League. Pyramids took the lead in the 18th minutes after Ramy Rabia accidentally scored an own goal.
Pyramid were reduced to 10 men when right back Ahmed Tawfik received a red card in the 40th minute. Despite this setback, they doubled their lead in the 50th minute through a penalty converted by Mostafa Fathi.
Al Ahly responded quickly with goals from Ramy Rabia and newcomer Nejck Gradišar in the 52nd and 54th minute. Controversy arose in the 88th minute when Ahly missed a penalty, with Emam Ashour striking the crossbar.
The result keeps Pyramids at the top of the table with 21 point, one ahead of second placed Al Ahly. In other matches, Ceramica Cleopatra beat Ghazl El Mahalla 1–0, Al Ittihad edged Ismaily 1–0, and Tala’ea El Gaish drew 0–0 with Pharco.
