A vital part of Egypt's national team and goalie for Union of Alexandria, Mahdy Soliman, suffered a serious leg injury while his team was playing Tala'ea El-Gaish in the Egyptian Premier League..
The incident happened in the 22nd minute of the game, which was a part of the league's fourth round, after a hard collision with an opponent.
Soliman was immediately taken off the field in an ambulance after it became clear he could not continue. Substitute Sobhy Soliman stepped in to replace him.
Preliminary medical assessments conducted at the hospital confirmed a fractured tibia, ending Soliman’s participation in the game and raising concerns about his recovery period.
Since Soliman is considered one of the best goalkeepers in Egypt, the injury represents a severe blow to Al-Ittihad Alexandria and the national team. Details of his health condition and expected recovery period will be announced in the coming days.
